If you are applying for a Canada visitor visitor visa, then you require a specific size and position for a Canada visitor visa photograph

Size:  The photo must be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8" x 1 3/4"). Include two photographs of yourself with your application.

Quality:  The photo must be clear,  taken against a plain white or light-coloured background and printed on quality photographic paper. 

Expression:  Your face must be square to the camera with a neutral expression, neither frowning nor smiling, and with your mouth closed. 

Head position:  Keep your head straight and centered within the frame, with your eyes positioned 28-35mm from the bottom of the photo.

Eye position:  Please position yourself directly in front of the camera and look into the lens with your eyes open.

Hat and head covering:  Only religious head coverings are permitted; even then, your face must be fully visible. 

Glasses:  If you wear glasses, ensure there is no glare on the lenses and that your eyes are clearly visible. Sunglasses are not acceptable. 

No retouching: Please remember the following:  Do not digitally alter or retouch the photo in any way.

Recent photo:  The photo must be taken within the last six months to reflect your current appearance accurately. 

If the photographs do not meet the specifications, you must provide new photographs before processing your application.
