It is quite acceptable that finding a survival job in Canada is difficult, but the most important thing to keep in mind is that it is way easier than finding a full-time job.
You must remember that your job should match your interests, experience, and education.
There are many websites that help you find a survival job in Canada, which can be very useful. These are:
Government jobs of Canada, CareerBuilder, Monster, Indeed etc.
You can connect or call local stores and directly ask the manager about any available vacancy in the store nearby your house, such as restaurants, retail stores, malls, grocery stores, etc.
These are easy to get, and a good advantage is that they might be close to your house. This means that you can work in your comfort zone.
Note: From Monday to Friday, you may meet managers from 10:00 am to before the afternoon in the nearby local stores. Always visit there with your updated resume according to Canadian standards.

As per my experience with all the calculations, we find that Walmart is the cheapest store for groceries.

The prices are so low at a grocery store like Walmart that the popular meats are packaged as five pieces for $10.
Apart from Walmart, there are many other grocery stores like Freshco, Metro, Bulk Barn, Longos, Costco and many more.

Although the cost of living in Canada will be expensive for a new immigrant.
But if you manage your savings, it becomes effortless, and you will get used to it.
The monthly cost for a two-person Ontario living family, including rent, will be approximately $2500 if you fulfill your minimum basic needs.
The monthly cost for a four-person Ontario living family, including rent, will be approximately $5000 if you fulfill your minimum basic needs.

The Canadian government and non-profit organizations provide free immigrant settlement programs which help in settlement, language improvement, job finding, skills training and many more.
